Anjanee By Philip Bailey I started drinking and using drugs with my mom
Teen Challenge Northern California / Nevada - My name is Anjanee'. I come from a really good home. I was raised by both of my parents and I have a little brother. My family believed in God, and we were raised Mormon, but they pretty much left the decision up to us whether or not we wanted to be part of their "religion." When I was 13, my parent's broke the news that they were getting divorced, and to top it off, I was told that my brother and I didn't share the same dad. Shortly after that, I started drinking and using drugs with my mom. I continued using for about 6 years. Last year, at the age of 18, I lost my daughter due to a premature labor, and the pain I felt caused me to turn back to drugs even harder. I knew that if I didn't do something to get my life under control I would end up in jail or even dead. Not knowing what to expect, I came to Teen Challenge. This is where I found the Lord, my savior, Jesus Christ. He is starting to restore my life back to me and is helping me deal with issues of rejection and unforgiveness. I have finally come to a place where I can forgive my mom and even forgive myself. He has given me a hope and a future to look forward to. I am thankful for the things I have gone through because they have brought me to have a strong relationship with Jesus. |
